On the occasion of Narsingdi Independence Day on December 12, a victory rally circumambulated from Circuit House Narsingdi to Zilla Shilpakala Academy. Dr. Md. Nurul Islam, Civil Surgeon, Narsingdi participated in the said rally.

In the face of strong resistance from the freedom fighters, the nine-month long armed liberation war ended in Narsingdi on 12th December 1971.
