Nutrition week is celebrated in Narsingdi like the rest of the country from May 9 to May 15. This year's theme is:
“Smart Bangladesh is under construction
Eat nutritious food"
On the first day of the nutrition week, leaflets containing nutrition messages were distributed to everyone in the opening ceremony and meeting. The government's success and development activities in the nutrition sector, effective coordination of programs to increase public awareness of nutrition among the local people were discussed. Dr. Badiul Alam was present. District Commissioner Narsingdi and President District Nutrition Coordinating Committee, Dr. Farhana Ahmed, Civil Surgeon Narsingdi and Member Secretary District Nutrition Coordinating Committee, Dr. Mo: Abu Kauchar Sumon, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer, Sadar Narsingdi and Member Secretary Upazila Nutrition Coordinating Committee .
2nd Day (Friday) :- With the help of Islamic Foundation and local administration, nutrition message is given to the worshipers coming to the mosque in Joma Bayan and other religious institutions.
3rd Day (Saturday) :- Nutrition message and nutrition related services are provided at IMC corner in all (health centers) field level hospitals in internal and external departments.
Day 4 (Sunday):- Mother rally, discussion meeting with expectant mothers and pregnant women on maternal and infant nutrition was organized in the meeting room of Civil Surgeon's office, Narsingdi.
Fifth Day (Monday):- A discussion meeting on elderly nutrition was organized with the eminent leaders of the society in the conference room of Civil Surgeon's office, Narsingdi.
Sixth Day (Tuesday) :- Nutrition discussion and quiz competition was organized by girl child in Ideal School of Adolescent Nutrition District and three winners were announced.
Seventh Day: The week ends with the closing ceremony and distribution of prizes among the winners of the nutrition quiz.
